Mandatory angle stickers in France

In order to reduce road accidents in the French country, especially among the most vulnerable road users, in December 2019 the Government of France amended its Highway Code by Law, introducing, as a novelty, the obligation to that all goods transport vehicles and combinations of vehicles over 3.5 tons circulating on French roads are equipped, as of January 1, 2021, with warning signs indicating the position of blind spots, and must go located both on the sides of the vehicle and at the rear.

The purpose of this signaling is to allow other road users (car drivers, motorcyclists and cyclists, among others) to better understand the existence and position of blind spots in heavy transport vehicles.

Although said legal obligation will enter into force in the first days of January, once the regulatory norm that develops said Law is definitively approved, however, given the practical difficulties of implementing it by the transport companies, foreseeably the French Government will establish a transitional period of several weeks for its application, in order to allow companies to progressively replace the devices already installed in vehicles, or those that currently do not have any device, with the new signaling model provided for in French regulations.

Likewise, it should be remembered that in the case of motor vehicles, and trailers or semi-trailers in which a structural impossibility of installing them is demonstrated, they will be exempt from the placement of side and / or rear signs, as is the case with concrete mixer trucks. or crane trucks.

In order to comply with the new legal obligation, which will affect most of the one hundred thousand Spanish trucks that operate in the European Union, since France is a country and an obligatory step to transit to the rest of the European countries, FENADISMER through its service of international assistance to carriers FENAGEST will provide these signs at very affordable prices, specifically, the pack of 6 units of identification signs for only 12.90 euros (VAT and postage not included) for installation both on the tractor unit and on the semitrailer.
