XPO Logistics has expanded its service in Spain with the opening of two centers in the Port of Seville that total nearly 10,000 square meters.
Both facilities are located in the ZAL (Logistics Activities Zone) of the port. One of the latest generation facilities in the Andalusian capital will be the inaugural center of XPO Last Mile operations in Spain, while the other center will support the Pallet Network activity (LTL-less-than-truckload) and full-load services (FTL).
The opening ceremony was attended by Javier Carnero Sierra, Minister of Employment, Business and Commerce of the Government of Andalusia, Maria Carmen Clarisa Castreño, First Deputy Mayor of Seville, Manuel Gracia, president of the Port Authority of Seville, and Ismael Clemente, CEO of MERLIN Properties, as well as other authorities.
The Minister of Employment, Business and Commerce, Javier Carnero has highlighted the Andalusian Government's commitment to the digital economy and support for electronic commerce, with the launch of initiatives such as the Young Trade Plan, the Digital Business Action Plan 2020 (PAED), and a line of incentives for digital marketing or online commerce projects through the IDEA Agency, to which it already 554 applications worth 20.5 million euros have been submitted.
